Design for Manufacturing/Design for Assembly
Course Duration: 3 Days
This course will show how a product's functional requirements are converted into designs which have the highest level of functionality, manufacturability, and assembly, but at the lowest cost. This will be accomplished by the attendees working together as a team to integrate many different support tools, including GD&T, Additive Manufacturing, Process Flow-Charting, and others. Specific DFM and DFA recommendations will also be shared pertaining to many different types of manufacturing and assembly, like machining, welding, forming/bending, casting, forging, injection molding, mechanical assembly, welding, bonding and more will be presented.
Manufacturing Readiness Levels and maturity of manufacturing processes, along with supporting tools, will also be discussed.
A customer case study will be included.
