Material selection is one of the earliest, most important, design decisions that needs to be made in product development and is driven mostly by functional performance requirements of the product. In addition to functional requirements, selection of the proper manufacturing process for the product's material is critical to advancing through the manufacturing facility, and meeting the manufacturing requirements without sacrificing material integrity.
Proper material selection in design will be discussed, along with how to apply the manufacturing processes required. "How not to Ruin Your Material in Manufacturing" will also be discussed.
A customer case study will be included.
